Hemp extract is derived from the cannabis plant. Cannabis is a plant category that includes hemp and marijuana, which means you can get CBD from both plants. We are focused on the CBD that comes from hemp: a plant that has been used for centuries by many cultures.  CBD doesn't produce euphoria (get you high).

CBD is an all-natural product that helps maintain overall health, and everyone can benefit from it. Research is ongoing, and it's potential health benefits as a natural remedy looks very promising.  CBD plays a significant role in the endocannabinoid system (ECS) and is involved in sleep, pain relief, and weight.

The endocannabinoid system in the body is comprised of the cannabinoids your body makes itself (anandamide and 2-AG) and the receptors that these two compounds bind to.  This system plays a role in regulating a wide range of functions and processes, including sleep, mood, appetite, memory, immune function, and reproductive health.

Two primary types of endocannabinoid receptors exist in the body, CB1 and CB2.

CB1 receptors are primarily located in the brain and spinal cord.  The psychoactive component of cannabis (THC) primarily works on CB1.  CB2 receptors are located in the peripheral nervous system, gastrointestinal system, and the immune system.  CBD primarily acts on CB2 receptors.

Most hemp derived CBD products have a very low amount of THC in them (legally allowed to be less than 0.3%).  Unfortunately, this can cause urine drug screens to test positive for cannabis in some circumstances.  Many of our products have absolutely no THC.
